Organic Artworks
Watercolour & Pencil
by Steven Dalving
Where intuition meets
vibrant artistry.
Organic art, like my architecture, is the practice of creating things that are highly personal through processes and media. Giving form to a hidden realm/ energy.
Or simply put, paintings and drawings made with pencil or aquarelle. The subject matter of the last few years up until today is "my inner world that wants to see the light".
My works are made from spontaneous impuls to draw.
It sprouts out of the moment, not out of an idea, rather out of…
just follow me:
hmm, at this moment I feel like using red
and use it with subtlety in whirls
and I follow my hand to where it wants to go.
Oh, I love that… lets expand on that.
Oh dear, it needs som more green…
Well, that is for me refreshing. You see, in the past I wanted to draw the beauty of nature. It was hard work having to strive for photo realism. Now, I am confident that I have enough technique to express what wants to be expressed.
Artist and Architect
Steven Dalving
Born in 1978, in the Paardekraal Hospital in Krugersdorp, South Africa, I was cradled by a land teeming with natural wonders. This vibrant country, my motherland, became the foundation of my identity, shaping me from the very soil beneath my feet. From a young age, I felt an irresistible pull to capture the essence of my surroundings on paper.
